Academic resources for students

  • Academic Resource Center (ARC) – provides academic coaching, peer tutoring, and workshops to help students study effectively, manage time, read strategically, and more. The ARC supports undergraduate and Harvard Griffin GSAS students.
  • Harvard College Writing Center – offers help for undergraduates with any aspect of their writing, from specific assignments to general writing skills.
  • Harvard Library – provides research assistance, consultations and workshops to help students navigate Harvard’s vast library system, scope projects, identify credible resources, and develop the skills they need to be savvy consumers and creators of information.
  • Students may benefit from discipline-specific help rooms and supports, such as the Math Question Center and the Language Center.
  • Disability Access Office (DAO) – partners with Harvard College and Harvard Griffin GSAS students with disabilities to identify barriers and implement plans for access.

For concerns about college students

The Resident Deans are the academic deans for Harvard undergraduates, and are responsible for the academic and personal welfare of undergraduates. If you have concerns about an undergraduate, please contact the student’s Resident Dean, either through the Midterm Progress Report Tool, or directly via email or phone. You can find each student’s Yard or House affiliation on your course roster.

For concerns about graduate students

  • Contact the Harvard Griffin GSAS Office of Student Services, an on-call team that works with the Dean of Students to respond to student issues across GSAS.
  • Faculty can also consult the Harvard Griffin GSAS Crimson Folder, which offers resources and guidance for faculty who are assisting students in distress.

Academic Integrity

Harvard College students are asked to affirm their awareness of the Honor Code at multiple times throughout the semester, including registration, at final exams, and upon submission of final papers and projects. The Faculty Handbook provides guidance on reporting incidents of possible academic dishonesty by undergraduates and graduate students.
